AT&T Mobility CEO Confirms “Family Data Plans”

AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega, in an interview with CNET.com on May 7th, discussed the forthcoming family or shared data plans that AT&T will be offering in the not-too-distant future.  It’ll be interesting to see exactly how they structure the plans, what that structure does to how AT&T handles subsidizes device cost, how large of plans they will offer and what overages will cost.

ICOMM believes that after both AT&T and Verizon implement their family data plans that some sort of corporate shared data will be offered, which will further help organizations optimize their wireless spend.  Of course, the timing on those corporate plans are unknown, but it’s likely that they’ll become available in 2013.  If this happens, it will be a definite savings opportunity for corporate customers.
