All this week, the Wall Street Journal has reported in a number of stories that Apple will be releasing an iPhone that works on the Verizon network. Although there are no details, the speculation is that it will be an LTE device for data and CDMA for voice, and that it will be released in early 2011.

This has been a long journey for Verizon Wireless. Here’s an interesting interview with Lowell McAdam (new President and COO of Verizon Communications) in which he discusses some of the challenges of this effort. He also discusses the data service overcharge debacle, for which Verizon Wireless will be issuing refunds to around 15 Million customers. On this topic, McAdam says, “First of all, we know the billing relationship we have with our customers is a sacred trust.”
